We started demolition and site work in Q3 2023 regardless of the percentage of the building sold. Achieving a 30-40% mark would enable us to accelerate construction financing but is in no way a prerequisite.

No. The Residences at 1428 Brickell is a private, resident-only building, ensuring long-term ownership and privacy.

While The Residences at 1428 Brickell will be the world’s first luxury, high-rise residential tower to integrate photovoltaic glazing within the building’s façade, we are not the first to apply this technology. Photovoltaic glass has been used for years in various commercial and industrial applications.

This solar energy feature is deftly blended into the building’s architectural aesthetic, expressing the importance of sustainability and carbon reduction along each of its 70 floors.

With 500 photovoltaic-integrated windows along the west-facing façade, creating nearly 20,000 square feet of energy-producing glass, the system is capable of producing up to 170,000 kilowatts, or 170 megawatts, of clean energy per year. This is intended to result in the reduction of approximately 4,700 tons of CO2 and the use of 3,000 barrels less of oil.

The solar backbone will be a significant power source for amenity and common areas in the building. It will not provide power for individual residences nor serve as a source for backup power generation.
