Yamal Yidios’ Ytech is launching an ambitious project on the site of its current offices, planning a high-end, 70-story condo tower slated to be run partly on solar power generated by the building’s glass facade.
The 850-foot-tall Residences at 1428 Brickell will offer 189 for-sale apartments and be designed by Arquitectonica and Italian firm ACPV Architects, which also worked on the Arte condo in Surfside and is credited for their work with Bulgari properties, Ytech announced Tuesday.
Units are expected to be sold for between $2M and $7M, with penthouses ranging between $8M and $40M, according to the release. Ytech acquired the 1.1-acre site for $26.5M in 2017, and it since has invested tens of millions into the project. Cervera Real Estate represented Yidios, who said years of research and travels to Italy helped shape the sustainable and resilient solar concept for the properties.
“Over a decade of planning and market research has come to fruition with The Residences at 1428 Brickell,” Yidios said in a statement. “Ytech’s vision is to create residential sanctuaries in an urban environment where design is driven first and foremost by resident experience and needs.”
Ytech said The Residences is the first residential tower in the world to utilize technology that allows it to power itself with its own solar energy through a process called photovoltaic glazing in the glass structure, The Real Deal reports.
Ytech’s project is at the tail end of zoning approvals and design logistics. Ytech expects to start construction in September 2023, The Miami Herald reports.
