World’s first solar-powered residential high-rise comes to Miami
The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a new 70-story condo tower in Miami, will have 500 photovoltaic-integrated glass windows on its western facade, creating a 20,000-square-foot “solar backbone” capable of producing up to 170 megawatts a year.
That should reduce 4,700 tons of carbon dioxide and 3,000 barrels of oil annually, according to the developers at Ytech.
“While there are many applications of solar-glass technology existing in the world, The Residences at 1428 Brickell will be a first-time application of the tech in a high-rise residential setting,” Ytech CEO Yamal Yidios told Robb Report.
The 189-unit property was designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by Milan-based architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel. Prices range from $2 million to $7 million, with a penthouse collection that goes from $8 million to more than $40 million.
Cervera Real Estate will lead sales and marketing for the Residences at 1428 Brickell.
